ok so i have a little 10lb pom. and this morning around 10am i found him chewing or a razor and then i looked in his cage and found two out of the four individual little blades that make up one razor then around 1025ish he threw up the third razor blade ..they must not be that stiff because it was chewed up and twisted into a little coil… but after he threw up and pooped he seemed to be fine …he ate i feed him extra food (white bread, wet dog food) and he was playing and running around like normal ..maybe even too excited lol but i just worried that i didnt find the 4th blade will this hurt him and now that i waited until like 12am the next day to post this will this mean a fatal consequence i called the vet and she said to call back if he threw up anymore and that she couldn’t se him today cause she was in surgery AHH please help!! thankss

  1. The vet said she couldn’t see a dog that ate a RAZOR BLADE? She should have referred you to someone else. There is nothing we can do. X-ray vision doesn’t work over internet.

  2. Don’t worry, I understand how close you are to your little puppy, but I know he will be fine once the doctor sees him.
My puppy fell from my bed once when i wasn’t looking, but i took him to the doctor and he said he will be all fine. so just dont worry

  3. 1# Find yourself a new fricking vet!!!!lol
I’m sorry but when my rottie was having baby birthing problems my vet let her stay in his personal office while he did a quick c-section on another dog then went straight back to our dog and even had nurses coming in with directions he gave them.Vets shouldn’t be putting off important things like that.

2# Go get an x-ray perhaps to see if theres another blade in her just to be safe.

  4. It’s a little late to be asking, I don’t mean to be rude but this dog should have gone to the emergency vet as soon as you discovered what happened. I would certainly take him right now if I were you.

  5. my golden retriever eats them all the time.. she was never affected.

she might not be the best example right now though, cause all the shit she ate is catching up wiht her. she’s sick and won’t eat.

  8. I would try anouther vet. If the dog seems to be okay im sure it’s fine but if i where you i would get a 2nd opinion for sure. It takes about a day for your puppy to digest what he or she eats so if it seems to be okay im sure it is. my puppy use to eat everything you have to be very careful what you have laying around the house.

  9. He needs to go to an emergency clinic right away. Worst case scenario they will do a GI surgery to open him up and get it out. If it’s still in there it could cause massive intestinal damage. The blade itself could cut through the stomach or intestinal track spilling out it’s contents and therefore causing massive harm/death to the dog. Take him somewhere else immediately!! If he’s throwing up the blades as well it could be really hurting his throat!! He still needs to be looked at!
